Mayhem in Paradise
In the 60's Goa was part of the hippie trail, which by the 80's grew into a package destination and by the 90's was a place full of party goers. Now however, Goa has become a popular holiday spot for the more affluent traveller as well. Diversity is the word which sums up Goa.
There is something for everyone. A magical, unique destination offering culture and heritage as well as stretches of golden beaches, all within a place full of beautiful colours, smells and charm. Some of the tourist beaches on the North are worth a visit for the experience but do not expect the experience to be relaxing as there are many beach hustlers as well as day trippers from Delhi and Mumbai who come to ogle the tourists. However, once you learn the rules you will soon see why it is the most popular tourist destination in India and the friendly locals will never be far away to offer help or guidance.
Goa offers an array of ways to spend your time. Once you've agreed a price, take a rickshaw through the shanti towns and savour the smells and wonderful sights, stopping at a vibrant market for an entertaining haggle. Devour fresh curries for rock-bottom prices or if you're feeling flush treat yourself to an upmarket accommodation with ambience. Whatever your needs, you can guarantee it will be available in Goa. Take a moment to lose yourself and your worries by relaxing with a lassi on the roadside, watching the world go by and don't miss the fantastic sunrises or sunsets for those late risers who have spent the night drinking the local kingfisher or old monk rum. Whatever you chose, it won't take long to lose yourself in the Goan way of relaxed living.
