Havana: Suggested Itinerary

Day 1: Check into your Cuban hotel for a night of relaxation and authentic music.

Day 2: Go on a guided tour of El Capitolio, followed by a tour and a lecture at Partagas Cigar Factory, concerning the history of cigar making. Afterwards proceed to La Mina restaurant in Old Havana, located in a 1700's colonial home. After lunch, take a guided walking tour of Old Havana with emphasis on the architecture.

Day 3: Start on your own or getting a guided city tour of Havana - an extensive overview of the city's monuments, plazas and landmarks. Stop for lunch at El Mercurio in Old Havana. After lunch, proceed to the outdoor flea markets where you can shop amongst the hundreds of booths set up with a wide variety of goods from crocheted garments to pottery to carved pieces. Then go to the Havana Club (the famous Rum factory) for a lecture on the history and manufacture of Rum and its place in the cultural life of Cuba, as well as a tasting. Return to your hotel to get ready for dinner, after which head to El Morro, which is a Havana landmark. You can tour El Morro and then witness the cannon ceremony which occurs each evening at 9pm.

Day 4: Spend a day getting to know Ernest Hemingway. The famed US author loved Cuba and spent many years enjoying this beautiful country. After breakfast, head for the Hemingway Museum, home of the author where you can get a private guided tour. Then return to your hotel for lunch or pick up some around here. After lunch, continue onto the Hemingway Marina and to the Club Havana, the most exclusive Club in Havana for beverages and a leisurely rest. If you want some glitz in your evening, head to the Nacional Hotel for the dinner show at Le Parisien, the Las Vegas extravaganza.

Day 5: Head back home.
