Hawaii Crime

Hawaii is a state comprised of islands all with their own personalities and populations. Hawaii is no more prone to crime than any other state of the USA. Most of the population is concentrated on Oahu where you find, as expected, most of the instances of criminal activity. Many of the less populated islands are made up of smaller communities and thus have a relatively low to no crime rate. Even still, you shouldn’t throw common sense out the window. If your hotel has a safe available, use it for your valuables. Always pay attention to your purse, wallet, or belongings to avoid opportunistic thieves. Lock your vehicle if you rent a car and avoid deserted areas of cities during late night hours when walking alone.
