There are 45 hotels in central Helsinki; most are mid-range chain hotels, but there are some at the luxury end of the scale as well. The average price for a room in a hotel in Helsinki is 76.25 euros, but hotels often drastically drop their rates during the summer season and at weekends, so booking in advance can be a good idea. On the other hand, expect to pay anything up to 260 euros a night for a luxury hotel such as the Hilton. Bear in mind that Finland doesn’t have an official hotel rating system, although the Helsinki City Tourist & Convention Bureau does give hotels its own rating on its website in order to help travellers.
All the major hotels groups have hotels here, so these can be a reliable choice. However, there are quite a few independent and smaller hotels which offer a comfortable stay.
