Hong Kong: Disabled Needs
The Pearl of the Orient
Hong Kong is a reasonably disabled-friendly province. Signs mark disabled access for public toilets and metro stations with elevators, as well as escalators. Public transportation for disabled people is possible by taking purchasing tickets with braille, and LED displays of upcoming metro stations. Priority seats are found on all public transport. Taxis and buses such as Rehabus are equipped to help passengers with limited mobility or needing assistance. The airport is designed for wheelchair accessibility with assistance programs for persons with disabilities as well as for others who require assistance. Note that disabled passengers travelling from the airport to Hong Kong can make taxi reservations in advance.
