Fishing in Hong Kong is a great way to enjoy the great outdoors. Even in the confines of the cities there are opportunities to fish a number of species in the reservoirs. Hong Kong has 17 reservoirs in total stocked with a variety of species such as Silver Carp, Big Head, Tilapia, Mud Carp, Goldfish and Wild Carp. Popular spots to fish in Hong Kong are Pok Fu Lam, Tai Tam, High Island and Shing Mun. The season lasts from September to March. Obtaining a licence to fish in Hong Kong is quite easily done: apply to the Water Supplies Department in person and licenses are usually issued on the same day.
