Hong Kong: Costs
The Pearl of the Orient
Hong Kong is an expensive place to live (due to high rents and imported merchandise), but visitors will note that public transportation, local foods and clothes are reasonably if not cheaply priced. As a visitor, accommodation is the biggest expense, costing anywhere between €40 and €190 for a double room in a good quality bed and breakfast or downtown hotel. For a high-season bed in a hostel expect to pay even less at just €15 a night.
