Kenya: Hot Air Ballooning

Mountains, deserts, colourful tribal culture, beaches, coral reefs and wildlife

Kenya is listed as the seventh most popular destination for hot air ballooning. Most of the top game park lodges can arrange a balloon safari at a cost of about US$400. This is a wonderful opportunity to view the wildlife from above, and the trips set off at dawn for about 1.5 hours followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush. The most popular place for a balloon safari is the Maasai Mara National Reserve, and watching the annual wildebeest migration in July and August is a spectacle not to be missed.
