Kuala Lumpur is renowned for its numerous shopping malls offering the perfect retail therapy for anyone. The city is geared for shopping even with events held annually to promote shopping. The best time for a shopping holiday in Kuala Lumpur is probably in the mid year during the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival which starts from July and ends in September and the Malaysia Year End Sale which is usually scheduled from the end of November to end December.
However, visitors heading to Kuala Lumpur for a shopping holiday can also expect to find many great bargains and designer products at anytime of the year. Some of the best shopping places in Kuala Lumpur includs Bukit Bintang, an area with a cluster of shopping centres and small retail shops.
The Suria KLCC is a premier shopping centre for the latest fashion and gadgets and is situated next to the Petronas Tower, Berjaya Times Square. This is one of the latest shopping malls. Mid Valley Megamall is the biggest mall in Kuala Lumpur. Shopping in Kuala Lumpur is not restricted to just indoor shopping. There’s a colourful open air bazaar in Chinatown where you get the chance to exercise your bargaining skills with the stall holders.
