Lanzarote: When to go
A volcanic moonscape
Locals and regular visitors regard September and October as the best months of the year in Lanzarote. The trade winds drop considerably and the sea is at its warmest, mainly because temperatures still average around 23 degrees Celsius.
The sky is a clear blue and the autumn sun is strong, so that you can enjoy many a day on one of the beaches that are dotted all over the island or by the poolside. Although the nightlife does calm down as the summer ends, everything stays open and people flock to the cocktail bars to start their night out on the town. Sightseeing trips and watersports are available pretty much all year round – or definitley while the weatther allows – and the sun in the Canaries is always a huge attraction for those wishing to travel a little later in the year.
