The population of Cyprus is 792,604, while Greek and Turkish are the official languages spoken. Efforts have been made to level out the gap between rich and poor with a minimum monthly wage. Cyprus’ ethnic mix is composed of 77% Greeks and 18% Turkish and a small percentage of other ethnic groups, such as Christians. The Turks inhabit the north of the island and the Greeks populate the south.
