Malta: When to go
A Microcosm of the Mediterranean
Spring and autumn are the best times to visit Malta, and also the nearby Gozo. Conditions are perfect between Easter and mid-June, when the weather is pleasantly warm, but not too hot; beaches and resorts are relatively uncrowded, and accommodation is cheaper and easier to find than in the high season (mid-June to end-August). If you are after some very hit sun, then high season is the time to go, when temperatures can sometimes exceed 40 celcius. If this is unbearable, then consider going between the end of August until the end of November, when the climate once again becomes ideal as the season winds down. If you decide to visit Malta during special times like summer festa season, Easter and carnival and you’ll never be stuck for what to do – simply join the crowd for some fun.
