Mexico Costs

Mexico is not very expensive and you can spend a comfortable holiday within a limited budget. Food is dirt cheap in most places, unless you are a regular at Michelin Star restaurants! For budget meals on a daily basis you will require a minimum of 28Pesos to 100Pesos ($2 to 7), for mid-range meals 140Pesos to 280Pesos ($8 to 20) should do. For mid range accommodation 450Pesos to 1000Pesos ($30 to 80) will be more than enough. Public transport is cheap. If you plan on renting a car, a day’s rental can vary between 165 pesos ($12) to 670 pesos ($50) for a small to medium sized car, with insurance. Entry charges to most archaeological sites, museums and places of tourist interest are nominal and most monuments have free admission on Sundays.
