There is plenty of choice in Morocco when it comes to catching the waves. The long sandy beaches of Oualidia, Dar Bouazza, Taghazout, Agadir and Essaouria are all ideal locations for surfing. Essaouria holds numerous international surfing competitions. To the north of Safi, Sidi Bouzid is an international standard point-break for surfers, with regular, fast and powerful waves. It is ranked among the top 10 in the world (a maximum of four meters high for a swell, which can reach two meters). Further south, in Dakhla Bay, is a long and perfect right-breaking wave has led surfers to rank this Foum Labouir spot second only to Hawaii. In Morocco, you will find the weather provides excellent surfing conditions too, the trade wind blows across the coast from the end of March to mid-September, making it consistently mild throughout the year.
