Geographical Location of Peru
Peru is located in South America and borders the Pacific Ocean between Chile and Ecuador. It has land borders with Brazil and Colombia and a land and inland lake and land border with Bolivia.

The lengths of Peru's borders with its neighbours are: Bolivia 672 miles (1,075 kilometres), Brazil 1,872 miles (2,995 kilometres), Chile 107 miles (171 kilometres), Colombia 1,125 miles (1,800 kilometres) and Ecuador 888 miles (1,420 kilometres).
Languages of Peru
Spanish is spoken throughout Peru. However, in the highlands of the Andes the indigenous population speak mainly Quechua, but in the area around Lake Titicaca, Aymara is spoken. Although Spanish is spoken as a second language by many indigenous Peruvians, between 1 and 2 million of them do not speak Spanish at all. There are also some 55 different languages spoken in the Amazon region, including Campa and Aguaruno. All in all, there are some 150 different indigenous languages spoken in Peru.
Currency of Peru
The currency of Peru is the Nuevo Sol (New Sun). Banknotes are issued in the denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200. There are also coins of Nuevo Soles issued in denominations of 1, 2 and 5; and smaller denominations of 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents. There are 100 cents to each Nuevo Sol.
