Geographical Location of Poland
Poland is situated in central Europe sandwiched between Germany to the west, the Czech Republic and Slovakia to the south and Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania to the east. To the north the Baltic Sea forms a natural sea border.
Languages of Poland
Polish is the official language of Poland. English is widely spoken in the major cites, in hotels and restaurants, and other establishments frequented by tourists. However, signs, schedules and announcements (with the exception of airports) are usually only in Polish.
Currency of Poland
The official currency of Poland is the zloty. There are two abbreviations commonly used to represent the currency: 'zl' and 'PLN'. There are many foreign exchange offices, Kantor, located in town centres, most offer are more favourable exchange rate than establishments in the airports and in the UK.
