Fish husbandry has a long and rich history in the Czech Republic.
Prague does not come to mind when you say fishing destination because there is a genuine dearth of natural water reservoirs in the city. The Vltava experiences heavy water and human traffic and is too murky and polluted for the liking of freshwater fish. Trout are sometimes seen swimming here but the occurrences are far and few.
