San Francisco: Geography
San Francisco is in Northern California, some 600 kilometers from Los Angles in Southern California. The city sits at the top of the San Francisco Peninsula, with the Pacific Ocean to the west and the San Francisco Bay to the north and east. The city lies along the San Andreas and Hayward faults and has been shaken by several major earthquakes. The city is covered in hills with more than 43 – making for spectacular vistas from the hilltops.
