Seville: Spectator Sports

Tapas bars, nightlife and stylish people

There are many spectator sports in Seville to enjoy, and you’ll find that Seville locals are more than a little passionate about watching sports!

Football is almost an obsession with Seville’s locals – there are two rival teams, FC Sevilla (based at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan) and Betis (at the Estadio de Benito Villamarin). Spectators can cheer on their Seville football team at matches held on Sunday afternoons between September and May. Another major spectator sport in Seville is bullfighting. Seville’s huge Maestranza bullring plays host to some of the most impressive and important bullfights in the whole of Spain: you can go along to watch during the bullfighting season in Seville from April to October.
