Tanzania is found in Central East Africa and is bordered by Kenya and Uganda in the north and Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the west. Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique border to the south. Tanzania is divided into 26 mkoa or regions: Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Iringa, Kagera, Kigoma, Kilimanjaro, Lindi, Manyara, Mara, Mbeya, Morogoro, Mtwara, Mwanza, Pemba North, Pemba South, Pwani, Rukwa, Ruvuma, Shinyanga, Singida, Tabora, Tanga, Zanzibar Central/South, Zanzibar North, Zanzibar Urban/West.
The country shares three unique features: Africa's highest peak Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's largest lake Lake Victoria, and the lowest point – the lakebed of Lake Tanganyika.
Tanzania is the world's 31st largest country.
