Baseball is king in Venezuela and the most popular spectator sport in Caracas. The capitol boasts one professional team - Los Leones de Caracas. Baseball season in Venezuela runs from October to January. Tickets to see a game cost between BsF5 to BsF30 ($2.35-$14). The better seats provide more protection from the sun, rain and the rowdier crowds. Los Leones play at the Estadio Universitario de Caracas (one of the universities in Caracas). Tickets can be purchased in advance or on the door. Other popular spectator sports in Venezuela are football and basketball. If you fancy seeing a game of football in Caracas, the city has three football teams - Caracas Fútbol Club, Deportivo Italia(both play at Estadio Olímpico de la UCV) and Estrella Roja Futbol club (who plays at Brígido Iriarte stadium). The basketball team for Caracas is Cocodrilos de Carcas - one of the most popular teams in the country. Games are played at the Gimansio José Beracasa stadium.
