South America's Hidden Gem

Day 1: Fly out and begin the the tour in Caracas.

Days 2-5: Spend three nights really grabbing the essence of Venezuela at Orinoco Delta This spectacular nature reserve is made up of luxuriant mangrove forest of outstanding beauty. Stay for three nights in stilt houses, local dugouts and meet the native Warao tribe.

Days 6-9: The crowning spectacle of this beautiful part of the world, todays is the day to go to Angel Falls. Fly over Angel Falls (dry season only - Jan-May) en route to Kamarata Indian village. Take a 4-day journey by motorised canoe (with day-hike to the base of Angel Falls - wet season only, Jun-Dec); and camp on the last night near Canaima. You can also take an optional excursion to Salto el Sapo from here.

Day 10: Your next stop is Andean Foothills. Spend the day exploring the sights before flying to Barinas after.

Days 11-12: The Venezuelan wetlands of Los Llanos are a little-visited showcase of tropical wildlife. On your stay at a working cattle ranch, you could see unusual animals such as the alligator, anaconda, capabari, turtle, freshwater dolphin and armadillo.

Day 13: Head back to Caracas airport.
